Hourai Festival (Tsurugi)
ほうらい祭り(鶴来)
Usually the 1st weekend of October (2026 date TBC)
The autumn festival of Kinken-gu Shrine features "tsukurimono" — giant figures about 5 meters tall, built fresh each year by the town's neighborhoods and often referencing current events. By day, compare the craftsmanship; by night, follow the parade as lion dancers whirl staffs through the old streets of Tsurugi at the foot of Mt. Haku.
