Suzu City groups three summer events under a recovery banner — the Iida Toroyama festival in July, the Horyu Tanabata Kiriko festival on August 1, and this evening of taiko drumming on August 14. Professional troupes share the stage with local elementary school children playing kiriko and sanno drums.
