Iida Toroyama Lantern Float Festival
飯田燈籠山祭り
July 20–21 every year (eve festival on the 19th)
Held every July 20–21 since the early Edo period, this festival centers on the "Toroyama," a towering 16-meter lantern float crowned with a doll figure, pulled through the streets of Iida in Suzu City at the tip of the Noto Peninsula. Eight ornate floats decorated with lacquer and gold leaf join the night procession.
