Nonoichi Jonkara Festival
野々市じょんからまつり
August 1–2, mass dance from 19:10 (1st) / 19:55 (2nd) · 11:00〜21:30(1日)・11:00〜21:00(2日)
Of all the dance festivals in Ishikawa, Nonoichi Jonkara is the most welcoming to visitors — the city officially states that anyone can join the mass dance on the day, even alone. Residents in yukata form a huge circle and dance to the Jonkara folk song, a prefecturally designated intangible cultural property. Teams also compete on the beauty and unity of their dancing.
