Seihakusai Festival (Dekayama Floats)
青柏祭(でか山)
May 3–5 (all three floats gather on May 5)
Held over the Golden Week holidays, Seihakusai is the largest spring festival on the Noto Peninsula. Three enormous wooden floats, among the biggest in Japan, are hauled through Nanao's narrow streets by townspeople — visitors can often join in pulling. The highlight is the "tsujimawashi," when the massive floats are pivoted at intersections.
